After the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, A number of U.S. Aircraft carriers had managed to survive, and now that Americans were entering the war, Japan wanted to get rid of these to cripple the U.S. However, due to impressive code cracking, the U.S. had learned about a plan to ambush their carriers. Learning this, they went out with knowledge of the ambush and counterattacked. Six months after Pearl Harbor, the battle of Midway occurred. The Japanese were taken by surprise, and lost their own carriers along with many trained staff. The battle was a victory for the Allies, and allowed the U.S. to advance more offensively.
